Google Ads Management for Contractors

We only run Google Ads for people who work with their hands.

Most PPC agencies will take an HVAC contractor, a dentist, a SaaS company, and a furniture store in the same week and run them all from the same playbook.

We run fifteen trades and nothing else. That means when we open your account we already know that emergency plumbing clicks cost four times what a water heater installation click costs, that concrete cannot pour in a freeze, that pool service lives or dies on route density, and that tree service homeowners search at seven in the evening rather than eleven in the morning.

That knowledge is not a sales pitch. It is the difference between an account that pays for itself and one that does not.

We own trade businesses. We run our own accounts before we run yours.

Three things that make us different, and one of them matters most

You own your Google Ads account

Some agencies run your campaigns inside their own Google Ads account. When you leave, you leave with nothing. No conversion history, no keyword data, no learning, no audience lists. You start from zero somewhere else.

We build in your account, under your billing. If we part ways you keep everything, including the campaigns we wrote and the data they generated.

Ask any agency you are considering this question directly and get the answer in writing.

Flat fee, never a percentage of spend

Percentage-of-spend pricing pays the agency more the more you spend, whether or not it works.

It is worst in seasonal trades. A roofing account can spend ten times its normal budget in a hail month, which under percentage pricing means the agency earns its biggest fee in the weeks the work is mostly switching campaigns on.

We charge $2,500 a month, flat, at any spend level. Ad spend is billed to you directly by Google and we never take a cut of the media.

One client per market

We will not run ads for two plumbers in the same city. If we are already working with someone in your service radius, we will tell you on the first call rather than take your money and bid you against each other.

How we build accounts

Campaigns split by intent, not by service list

Branded, non-branded prospecting, local and territory, competitor, and retargeting kept separate. Brand terms have artificially low costs and high conversion rates, and blending them makes your real performance look better than it is.

If you cannot see your true non-brand cost per lead, you cannot manage it.

Ad groups tight enough to matter

Emergency work and planned installation do not share an ad group. Neither do materials, service lines, or price tiers that differ by an order of magnitude.

Relevance between keyword, ad, and landing page is the lever that moves cost across the entire account. On one service account we manage, tightening segmentation took cost per lead from roughly $345 to $118 while lead volume hit an all-time high in the same window.

Lower cost per lead and higher volume are not opposing goals when the structure is right.

Bidding matched to conversion density

Not dogma in either direction. Below roughly thirty conversions a month, manual CPC or maximize clicks, because automated bidding on thin data either starves or spends erratically. Above that with clean tracking, automated bidding usually wins.

High-volume residential trades cross that threshold faster than niche commercial accounts. We do not leave a busy account on manual out of caution, and we do not hand a brand new one to the algorithm.

Negative keywords installed before launch

Every trade has its own drain. Job seekers in concrete and electrical. DIY and home remedy in pest control. Rental and big-box in pressure washing. Above-ground owners in pool service. Materials and lead resellers in roofing.

The list goes in on day one, not after three months of funding it.

Geographic targeting set to presence only

The Google default also serves people who have merely shown interest in your area, which means paying for clicks from three states away. It sits collapsed under Location Options and almost nobody changes it.

Then we tighten the radius to what your crew and equipment can reach profitably, which is a different number in every trade.

Tracking that follows the job to close

Call tracking with dynamic number insertion, because most trade conversions are phone calls. Conversion tracking on forms and chat. And offline conversion import, so a job that closes six weeks after the click feeds its real value back into bidding.

Without that last piece, cheap low-value leads always look like your best campaign, and Google will keep finding you more of them.

Google Ads and Local Service Ads, run together

Local Services Ads sit above every paid search result with a Google Guarantee badge, and charge per lead rather than per click.

In trades where clicks run $20 and up, that pricing model matters. But LSA does not serve the research-phase work well, and search does not get you the top of the page.

We run both and budget them against each other. Run separately and unmanaged, they bid against each other for the same customer.

What we report

Cost per booked call and cost per closed job, split by service line. Which work your budget is actually feeding.

Not impressions. Not click-through rate. Not a dashboard screenshot with a green arrow on it.

The trades we run

Each of these has its own page, its own keyword research, and its own campaign structure. They are not the same page with a word swapped.

Commercial Cleaning Concrete Contractors Electricians Fencing Flooring HVAC Insulation Landscaping Painting Pest Control Plumbing Tree Service

And four more we run that are less commonly asked for:

Appliance Repair Carpet Cleaning Drywall Repair

If your trade is not listed, ask. The structure transfers; the keyword research is what we do fresh.

Why us

We own trade businesses. That is the difference, and most agencies pitching you cannot say it.

Bear Brothers Cleaning is ours. We have priced jobs, hired crews, run the phones, and lived with a cost per lead that had to work against real margins. We also run paid search for Plastic Fusion Fabricators and TriHaz Solutions, both industrial operations with long buying cycles and large contracts.

We have generated over $3 million in revenue for the businesses we market.

Frequently asked questions

What does Google Ads management cost?

We charge $2,500 a month, flat, at any spend level. Ad spend is billed to you directly by Google and we never take a percentage of the media.

Do I own my Google Ads account?

Yes. We build in your account under your billing. If we part ways you keep the campaigns, the conversion history, the audience lists, and everything the account has learned. Some agencies run clients inside their own account, which means you leave with nothing.

Why flat fee instead of a percentage of ad spend?

Because percentage pricing pays an agency more the more you spend, regardless of results. It is particularly bad in seasonal trades, where a storm month can multiply spend for work that is largely switching campaigns on.

What budget do I need for Google Ads?

It depends entirely on your trade. Pressure washing and pool service work at a few hundred a month. Electrical and roofing need thousands, because clicks run $20 and up. We work it backward from the jobs you need to book and will tell you honestly if your budget is too small to justify paying anyone to manage it.

Do you work with businesses outside the trades?

No. We run fifteen trades and nothing else. The specialization is the product.

Will you take on my competitor?

No. One client per market per trade. If we are already working with someone in your service radius we will say so on the first call.

How long before Google Ads produces leads?

Most trades see leads within one to two weeks. Cost per lead typically improves thirty to fifty percent between weeks two and six as negative keyword lists mature. Judge an account at ninety days, not sooner.

Do you run Local Services Ads too?

Yes, alongside search rather than instead of it. LSA charges per lead and sits above paid results with the Google Guarantee badge. Run unmanaged alongside search, the two bid against each other.
