Before you read this: we run an electrician PPC agency. So does almost everyone else who publishes a list like this.
The pricing is circular too. One list cites another list, which cites the agencies’ own pages. Nobody is verifying anything.
So here is a list where we’re at the bottom, and where every entry says who that agency is wrong for. Pricing below is what each agency or a third-party comparison has published, not figures we’ve verified from a contract.
The short version
| Agency | Best for | Reported starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Corona (now RYNO Strategic Solutions) | Competitive markets needing serious attribution | ~$2,500/mo |
| Scorpion | Multi-location and franchise operations | ~$3,000 to $5,000/mo |
| WebFX | Larger shops wanting enterprise reporting | From $650 to $1,500/mo management |
| Thrive Internet Marketing | Multi-channel without long contracts | ~$1,500/mo |
| SmartSites | Electricians who need the website rebuilt too | Quote only |
| Hook Agency | Established contractors above $2M revenue | Quote only |
| Rival Digital | Lower entry point, electrician-focused | ~$1,000/mo |
| Built-Right Digital | Performance-first with CRM integration | From $1,199/mo |
| Tradesmen Agency | Owner-operators who want the person running ads to have run a trade | $2,500/mo |
Blue Corona (RYNO Strategic Solutions)
Blue Corona was acquired by RYNO Strategic Solutions, so the brand you may have heard of is now part of a larger home services group. They’re a Google Premier Partner in the top 3% of North American agencies and a Microsoft Advertising Partner, with a paid media practice built specifically for home services.
Their strength is measurement. Call tracking, revenue attribution, and dashboards that connect spend to booked jobs rather than to clicks.
Wrong for you if: you’re a one or two truck shop. Reported entry around $2,500 a month means the management fee alone exceeds what many small electricians spend on ads.
Scorpion
Enterprise and multi-location. Scorpion is ServiceTitan’s preferred digital marketing partner, which matters if you already run ServiceTitan and want marketing and operations data in one place. They lean heavily on proprietary AI tooling for visibility and reputation management.
Wrong for you if: you’re a single-location shop. Reported pricing runs $3,000 to $5,000, and the platform advantages mostly pay off at scale. Reviews on transparency are mixed.
WebFX
Large, established, and built for reporting. Their proprietary analytics platform is the draw for contractors who want enterprise-grade attribution across channels.
Wrong for you if: you want a named person who knows your market. WebFX is a big agency and you will be one account among many.
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency
Founded in 2005, more than a thousand reviews averaging above 4.8, and month-to-month contracts, which is genuinely uncommon in this category. They run PPC alongside SEO, social, and web.
They’re the most-cited agency across every one of these roundups, which cuts both ways. Real reputation, and also heavy investment in appearing on lists.
Wrong for you if: you want trades-only specialization. Thrive works across many industries.
SmartSites
Their positioning pairs website design with PPC, which is the right instinct. Sending $20 clicks to a weak page is the most common way electricians waste budget, and most agencies will happily run ads into a page they didn’t build and won’t touch.
Wrong for you if: your site is already converting. You’d be paying for a strength you don’t need.
Hook Agency
Trades-focused, strong content operation, genuinely good at SEO. Their own published list targets established contractors above $2M in revenue, which is a useful signal about who they want.
Wrong for you if: you’re below that revenue line, or you want paid search to be the main event. Their strongest work is content and organic.
Rival Digital
Electrician-focused at a lower entry point than most of this list, running Google Ads and Local Service Ads together. Reported around $1,000 a month.
Wrong for you if: you need deep analytics infrastructure, or you’re running multi-location and need someone who can handle territory conflicts.
Built-Right Digital
Performance-first positioning with CRM integration and real-time lead dashboards. Reported range from $1,199 to $19,999 a month, wide enough to cover most shops.
Wrong for you if: you want an agency that isn’t also publishing the list you’re reading. The same caveat applies to us.
Tradesmen Agency
We own trade businesses. Bear Brothers Cleaning is ours, and we run paid search for Plastic Fusion Fabricators and TriHaz Solutions. The person building your campaign has priced jobs and answered the phone. We’ve generated over $3 million in revenue for the businesses we market.
Flat management fee. Ad spend is billed to you directly by Google, and you own the account. One electrical client per market.
Wrong for you if: you want a large team, enterprise dashboards, or a national brand name to show your partners. We’re small, and one client per market means we say no more than we say yes.
How to actually choose
Ignore the rankings, including ours. Four questions decide it.
What are they measuring? If the proposal talks about clicks, impressions, or rankings, walk. The only numbers that matter in electrical are cost per booked call and cost per job sold.
Do you own the ad account? Some agencies run your campaigns inside their own account. When you leave, you leave with nothing: no history, no conversion data, no learning. Ask directly and get it in writing.
How is the fee structured? Percentage of ad spend pays the agency more the more you spend, whether or not it works. Guaranteed cost per lead usually means the agency owns the account and controls what you can see. Flat fee is the only model where their incentive and yours point the same direction.
Do they run Local Service Ads? In electrical, LSA sits above paid search, charges per lead rather than per click, and carries the Google Guaranteed badge. An agency running only search in this trade is leaving the top of the page to someone else.
What electrician PPC actually costs to run
Separate from what an agency charges you, the media itself is expensive in this trade. Clicks in major metros run $20 and up, with Local Service Ads leads reported in the $18 to $27 range.
That changes what matters when you’re comparing agencies. In a cheap category you can absorb sloppy targeting. At $20 a click, a missing negative keyword list isn’t an optimization item, it’s the difference between a profitable month and a wasted one. Ask any agency you’re considering what negatives they install before launch. If they don’t have an answer ready for electrical specifically, apprenticeship and journeyman and salary and exam and licensing, they haven’t run this trade.
One thing every agency on this list will tell you
That you need to spend more.
Sometimes that’s right. Often the constraint is somewhere else. A phone nobody answers after 5pm. A Google Business Profile with four reviews. A website that takes nine seconds to load on a phone. No amount of ad spend fixes those, and an agency willing to take your money without checking first is telling you something about how they work.
If you want a second opinion before you sign with anyone here, we’ll audit your account for free and tell you what we’d change. Including if the answer is that you shouldn’t be buying ads yet.
